I write for believers who want to slow down over Scripture and dig in. My books have grown out of the adult Bible fellowship class I teach each week at my home church, driven by a conviction that most believers are capable of going far deeper in the Word than they've ever been invited to go.
The thread across all of it is simple: that Scripture is God's breath, that it sustains us, and that there is no shortcut around sitting with the text and letting it do its work.
By trade, I'm an enterprise technology executive and a two-time founder. I've led as CEO, CFO, and CTO, and today I serve as Chief Technology Officer at a national professional services firm. Twenty-plus years of asking how complex systems should be built has, if anything, deepened my wonder at the One who built the most complex system of all.
I've been married to my high school sweetheart for more than twenty years, and we have three children: a son in college, a daughter just behind the wheel, and a younger son who’s proud to now call himself a teenager.
I write with the same care I try to bring to anything worth getting right, and with the prayer that you'll end up not at a theory, but at the feet of the One the text reveals.
What Are Your Hobbies?
When I'm not working or teaching, you'll most likely find me in the garage. I eat, sleep, and breathe Formula 1, race autocross when I can, and some of the best hours I've ever spent were beside my oldest son, installing performance parts.
When and where do you like to write?
Honestly, wherever the inspiration hits. But if I could script it, I'd have a lake in front of me, mountains on the horizon, a hot cup of coffee in hand, and my Bible open beside me. That's where I'm most creative, and some of my best memories live right there. For our family, the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee are home away from home, and more than a few pages have taken shape there.
One Random Fact
My first book was never supposed to be a book. It started as a yearlong devotional email to a handful of friends and quietly grew into more readers than I ever imagined.
One thing that makes you human?
The same thing that makes all of us human: I'm a work in progress. I write about grace because I need it every single day. As much as I'd like to say I've arrived, most of my study is really God still working on me. My life verse is John 3:30, "He must increase, but I must decrease”, and I'm still learning, most days, what that costs.
